As part of her holding deal with Fox, Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) has landed the female lead in Inseparable, a drama pilot from Shaun Cassidy (Invasion) and revolving around a partially paralyzed forensic psychiatrist (Lloyd Owen) with a Jekyll-and-Hyde-type split personality. (His alter ego is a master criminal, and one not at all paralyzed, I would guess. Not that the partially paralyzed cannot serve as capable crooks; I just imagine it would impair the traditionally desired "quick getaway." But I digress.)

Per the Reporter, Helfer — whom I actually just spied while screening the most excellent Burn Notice season premiere — will play a shrink who evaluates suspects for the police — and thus, probably on more than one occasion, casts a curious eye on Owen's antihero.

Six to her legions of fans) has a heart of gold and a soft spot for animals, particularly cats. That's why she's starring in PETA's newest "Be an Angel for Animals" PSA in behalf of our feline friends.

Tricia and the very handsome Mr. Nix appear beside the tagline "If you have to be human, at least be humane," in an homage to the infamous Cylon character that has helped make Tricia a household name. An animal lover, Tricia took part in this campaign because she wanted to help spread the word. "I really just thought that this campaign 'Angels for Animals' is something that I feel is a good message to get out there, that they are part of the family and you should treat them as part of the family." So say we all!

Mr. Nix and the other felines that share Tricia's home are definitely treated like family, but not all cats are that fortunate. Every day, countless cats suffer cruelty and neglect at the hands of the people they trust to take care of them. Many are allowed to roam outside unattended, where they fall prey to other animals, get hit by cars, or become the victims of cruelty inflicted on them by evil people who get their kicks torturing animals.

Be your cat's angel! Clean cats' litterboxes daily, give them plenty of clean water, have them spayed or neutered, make sure they have a cozy window seat for gazing outside, never allow them outside without supervision, play with them, and give them lots of love and affection every day.

Tricia told us that all animal issues are important to her, especially animal testing, fur, ending the cruel seal hunt in her homeland of Canada, and caring for one's companion animals. Tricia Helfer's post-Cylon career is heating up.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Battlestar Galactica babe has landed a multi-episode arc on USA Network's fraktastic Burn Notice, which launches its second season on July 10. Helfer will play Carla, Michael's sleek, sexy and lethal "handler," who often comes across as unaffected and slightly amused by him.

Teases series creator Matt Nix: "To protect the people he loves, Michael is forced to work for Carla — his only link to the people behind his burn notice."

Helfer, who recently inked a talent holding deal with Fox (which produces Burn Notice), will juggle her Burn duties with the final season of BSG — which is easier said than done considering BSG shoots in Vancouver and BN in Miami. But that's what first class cabins were made for, right?

Burn Notice and Tricia Helfer — does it get any better than that? Well, does it?!
